If you have loved attending any of our wax courses you will have learnt how to create stunning jewellery in wax. But what do you do after the pieces come back from the casters?
This one day course is open to anyone who has completed a wax course with us or elsewhere and would like to learn about how to clean up their castings and complete their projects including setting stones in some cases.
We recommend booking this course once you have your castings returned to you from a casting company. You will need to bring your castings with you as that is what we will be using to work on in the day.
In this class you will learn to:
- Remove sprues and cut off any excess metal from your castings

- Address any blemishes or pot holes in your casting
- Polishing and finish your pieces
- Set any stones that you have created settings for. Cabochon, claw or flush settings.
- Learn plenty of tips and tricks to help you clean up your castings on your own at home after the courses.
What you need to bring to this class:
For this class, you will need to bring your castings. Depending on the project, most students can clean up 2 castings in the day.

As with all of our classes, all materials are included in the cost of the class as well as plenty of tea, coffee and snacks! The classes are all run by expert tutors with years of professional experience who are friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. The size of the classes is kept small to allow plenty of one-on-one attention and the maximum number of students for this class is 8.
We take an hour break for lunch and there are plenty of local shops to get food from, or you can always bring a packed lunch to eat in the studio. If you have any questions regarding this or other courses please don't hesitate to get in touch.
