On this one day workshop you will learn three different techniques for adding gold to your metal clay creations.
You will learn three different ways to incorporate gold into your metal clay designs including:
1. Keum-boo (adding a layer of gold leaf on top of your pieces)
2. Embedding gold grains (recessed into your metal clay pieces)
3. Painting with gold paste - perfect for precision work
You'll learn lots of tips and tricks along the way including how to fire your mixed metal pieces successfully.
Gold is a fantastic material to work with and this is an intensive class that is packed full of information and projects to get students comfortable working with gold.
This intermediate-level course has been specially designed for those with some experience working with metal clay.
What you need to bring to this class:
For this class, you don't need to bring anything but yourself as everything is provided and we will give you loads of ideas! However, if you have any designs in mind, feel free to bring pictures and sketches.
General Info:
As with all of our classes, all materials are included in the cost of the class as well as plenty of tea coffee and luxury biscuits! The classes are all run by expert tutors with years of professional experience who are friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. The size of the classes is kept small to allow plenty of one-on-one attention and the maximum number of students for this class is 8.
We take an hour break for lunch and there are plenty of local shops to get food from, or you can always bring a packed lunch to eat in the studio. If you have any questions regarding this or other courses please don't hesitate to get in touch.
