Claw Setting - Stone Setting - Round Stones

Learn to create your own beautiful claw settings in this intermediate one-day class. 

Claw settings are a timeless and popular design as they allow plenty of light into the setting, helping the stones to sparkle that little bit more. 

Throughout the day an expert tutor will guide you through the whole process from start to finish. 

What level is this class? 

This is an intermediate-level workshop and students will need to have taken the Soldering Masterclass and 2 day Stone Setting Course before taking the Claw Setting workshop.  

What you will learn: 

• Selecting and measuring your stone for claw setting. 

• Creating the seat for the stone and soldering on the claws 

• Attaching your setting to a ring or jumping 

• Using burrs to create a seat for your stone 

• Setting the stone 

• A brief look at how to polish and finish a claw setting 

At the end of the day, you should have a finished claw setting to take away as well as the knowledge you need to work on this brilliant setting style at home.  

General Info: 

As with all of our classes, all materials are included in the cost of the class as well as plenty of tea, coffee and snacks! The classes are all run by expert tutors with years of professional experience who are friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. The size of the classes is kept small to allow plenty of one-on-one attention and the maximum number of students for this class is 8. 

We take an hour break for lunch and there are plenty of local shops to get food from, or you can always bring a packed lunch to eat in the studio. If you have any questions regarding this or other courses please don't hesitate to get in touch.
