If you’re ready to take your stone setting skills to the next level, our Double Gallery Claw Setting class is the perfect challenge. This advanced setting is designed to showcase faceted gemstones beautifully, with an elegant collet and gallery that allow maximum light to enter the stone for extra sparkle.
What will I learn?
In this one-day, hands-on class you’ll be guided step-by-step by an experienced tutor to create a professional-quality double gallery claw setting for a round faceted gemstone. You’ll learn how to:
Make a collet (straight or angled) to fit your gemstone
Position and form four precise silver claws from wire
Cut and refine the gallery to allow light to flood through the stone
Neatly solder claws onto the collet and gallery for a strong, elegant finish
Use professional techniques to set your stone securely
All tools and materials are provided, and you’ll work in our fully equipped Brighton jewellery studio.
Level: This is an intermediate to advanced class. We recommend you complete both a collet setting and a simple claw setting before joining.
By the end of the day, you’ll leave with a stunning double gallery claw set gemstone and the skills to adapt the technique to other stone shapes.
