Discover the art of fold forming — a fascinating technique that adds movement, texture and sculptural form to your jewellery designs.
Invented by goldsmith Charles Lewton-Brain in the late 1980s, fold forming combines annealing, folding and hammering sheet metal to create beautiful organic shapes with strength and dimension.
During this hands-on class, you’ll explore techniques such as:
Line folds
Multiple crossing folds
Hammering for texture
Fold forming with a rolling mill
Creating wavy spines and leaf forms
And much more!
