Discover the art of fold forming — a fascinating technique that adds movement, texture and sculptural form to your jewellery designs.

Invented by goldsmith Charles Lewton-Brain in the late 1980s, fold forming combines annealing, folding and hammering sheet metal to create beautiful organic shapes with strength and dimension.

During this hands-on class, you’ll explore techniques such as:

  • Line folds

  • Multiple crossing folds

  • Hammering for texture

  • Fold forming with a rolling mill

  • Creating wavy spines and leaf forms

  • And much more!

This class is designed for intermediate to advanced makers looking to expand their skillset — it’s not suitable for beginners.

All materials are included in the class fee, along with endless tea, coffee and snacks.

Classes are taught by friendly, professional tutors with years of industry experience, and with a maximum of 8 students, you’ll enjoy plenty of one-to-one support.

We’ll take a one-hour break for lunch — you’re welcome to bring a packed lunch or pop out to one of the lovely local cafes nearby.
