Discover two traditional surface techniques that will transform the way you work with silver. In this class, you’ll explore the organic textures of reticulation, a process where silver is carefully heated to create beautiful ripples and patterns across the surface of the metal. You’ll learn how to control the flame and timing to achieve unique results every time.

We’ll then move on to keum boo, an ancient Korean technique of fusing 24ct gold foil onto silver. With just heat and pressure, you’ll create striking contrasts of silver and gold, perfect for adding richness and detail to your jewellery designs.

Over the course of the day, you’ll experiment with both techniques, try out different effects, and combine them to produce your own textured silver pieces with golden highlights.

Level: Intermediate – some experience in soldering and working with silver is required.
