Make Your Own Silver Pendant With Silver Metal Clay
This beginner-friendly class is a brilliant introduction to silver metal clay — a magical material that transforms from soft clay into solid silver right before your eyes.
In just a couple of relaxed and creative hours, you’ll learn how to shape, texture and fire silver clay to create your own pendant to take home and treasure. No experience needed at all — just come along and have fun experimenting.
Whether you're visiting Brighton or looking for something creative to do close to home, this is a wonderful way to spend an evening or morning making something special by hand.
What to expect
You’ll be welcomed into our bright, friendly studio near the beach, where your expert tutor will guide you step-by-step through the process of creating a pendant using silver metal clay.
You’ll learn how to:
• Shape and mould the clay using simple tools
• Add textures and details to personalise your design
• Torch fire your piece to transform it into solid silver
• Polish and finish your pendant so it’s ready to wear
Metal clay is made from recycled silver (often sourced from things like X-rays and photographs), combined with water and an organic binder. Once fired with a small torch or kiln, the binder burns away and you’re left with real silver of hallmark quality.
You’ll make and finish your pendant in the class and head home with a beautiful handmade piece of jewellery.
Our studio is centrally located on Middle Street, just a 10-minute walk from the train station and right next to The Lanes — a bustling part of Brighton full of independent shops and places to eat. If you’re making a day of it, this class fits perfectly into your plans.
Who it’s for
This class is perfect for complete beginners. You don’t need any previous experience — just come along, try something new and enjoy the process.
It’s a lovely choice for anyone interested in jewellery making, or simply looking for a creative and relaxing way to spend a couple of hours. You’ll be taught by an experienced tutor in a friendly and supportive environment.
The class is kept small so everyone gets plenty of guidance, and everything you need is included — from tools and materials to tea, coffee and snacks.
