Solitaire Ring

In this class, you’ll learn how to make a classic solitaire engagement ring — the ultimate showcase for a sparkling gemstone. We’ll guide you through creating a tapered band and crafting a jump ring setting with four claws to securely hold your stone in place.

This project will help you refine essential stone setting skills, from precision soldering to shaping and finishing. Alongside the technical know-how, you’ll gain confidence in bringing together multiple elements to create a professional-quality ring.

By the end of the class, you’ll leave with a beautifully finished solitaire ring and the skills to repeat the process for future commissions or personal projects.

Level: Intermediate/Advanced – you should be confident with ring making, soldering, and comfortable working independently in a jewellery workshop.

General Info: As with all of our classes, all materials are included in the cost of the class as well as plenty of tea coffee and snacks! The classes are all run by expert tutors with years of professional experience who are friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. The size of the classes is kept small to allow plenty of one-on-one attention and the maximum number of students for this class is 8. We take an hour break for lunch and there are plenty of local shops to get food from, or you can always bring a packed lunch to eat in the studio.
