Introducing an exciting new masterclass in advanced stone setting, with expert goldsmith April Dace.
Join us for this one-off, in-person masterclass and learn to make a five-claw tiara wedding band over three days.
April will guide you through the process of making a five-claw tiara wedding ring. Covering each process step-by-step from selecting the right stones, measuring and shaping, to soldering the claws, setting the stones and everything in between.
We can't wait - it is going to be a fantastic class!
Who is this class for?
This is an advanced level course for jewellers who are confident at making a solitaire claw set ring from scratch. It's perfect for those looking to advance their skills and challenge themselves to make a beautiful and commercially popular wedding band.
We recommend jewellers have taken soldering classes, stone setting classes, claw setting and collet setting before taking this class. You need to be confident in soldering, drilling and basic claw setting to get the most from the masterclass. If you are unsure if it's right for you, please just ask - our contact details are at the bottom of the page.
Course dates
This is a one-off masterclass and it runs on three consecutive days from Thursday 2nd October - Saturday 4th October 2025.
Each day runs from 10am - 5pm.
There are a maximum of 8 students per class.
We expect the spaces to be snapped up fast, so do reserve your spot early if you would like to join us.

What is included?
Included in the cost of the course are all of the basic materials needed. As it is a challenging project we will be making in silver. Your class materials are included including silver for the ring, and a selection of stones. You will, of course, also have use of our fully equipped studios during your classes, with expert tuition from April.
Techniques we will cover:
Shaping and forming the ring (considering fitting around a solitaire ring). Please note, we will not be making the solitaire ring in these three days so if you have a solitaire ring you would like to shape your band around please bring it along with you.
Working with the stones to create a layout
Drilling and shaping the stone seats
Soldering on the claws (there are a lot of them!)
Setting the stones
A bit of clean up and polishing to finish
Please note we will be making the tiara five stone band but not the solitaire in these three days. You are welcome to make and bring a solitaire ring with you to work around, but it is not essential.
